Alex Stacey

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate 2)

Alex grew up with a passion for animals that resulted in her participating in a school-based traineeship as a Vet Nurse whilst still completing high school. During this time she completed a Certificate II in Veterinary Nursing.

After working for nearly 2 years as a Vet Nurse in a cat and dog practice, Alex moved to Currumbin Wildlife hospital where she was given the opportunity to work with a variety of native birds and other exotic species. It was here that she realised that her true interests were with specialist veterinary services, dealing with the smaller feathered, furry and scaly critters. She currently lives with her two cats Sabrina and Napoleon, and three guinea pigs, Sultana, Jack-Jack and Mystic. She also devotes time to fostering sick, injured or neglected animals when possible.

Brisbane Bird and Exotics Veterinary Service has allowed Alex to combine her personal passion with the professional development that comes from working within a specialist practice.
